Product Information
The product is a concrete block alternative panel delivered to the site for installation. A Specialty Precast Company panel is precast inside a climate controlled facility and delivered to the site for erection. Regulating the climate during the manufacturing process maintains a consistency in the quality of the product that is not possible to attain at a construction site. By producing the product in a controlled environment, the quality issues and delays associated with weather are minimized.
Wall Types
We currently offer two types of wall panels in 5 different heights. The two types of wall panels are frost wall panels and foundation wall panels. Frost wall panels are typically used under garages and porches or as crawl spaces. Frost wall panels are either 3' or 5' in height. Foundation walls are offered in standard 8’6″, 9’0″ and 10′ heights. We are also capable of manufacturing custom heights less than 10' to accommodate multilevel structures. Typical panel widths are less than 12' in length and vary depending on the specifications for each project.

Product Details
The exterior of each concrete block alternative panel is flat with a textured finish. The overall thickness of the product is 11 inches consisting of a 2-1/2 inch exterior and an 8-1/2 inch cavity formed between two concrete studs. The interior resembles a studded partition with concrete studs every two feet. Cast into each concrete stud is a galvanized 25 gauge drywall stud.
Materials
Each panel is a monolithic pour using a consistent batch of 5000psi fiber reinforced concrete. Monolithic means the entire panel is poured at one time to produce a uniform product without inconsistencies associated with multiple step procedures. A 5000psi concrete is used for strength and for watertight characteristics. The concrete mix exceeds watertight standards determined by the American Concrete Institute. Incorporated into the concrete are multiple layers of 1/2″ and 5/8″ steel reinforcing rods. Foundation panels weigh between 440 and 512 pounds per linear foot.
To further guard against water penetration, our system utilizes a compacted gravel base rather than a traditional concrete footer. The weight of each panel is distributed over a compacted gravel base that permits the water to properly drain and be channeled away from the foundation. A crushed limestone base eliminates the hydrostatic pressure commonly associated with concrete footers. The most appealing feature for the homeowner is the cost and time savings to finish a basement into usable living space. Specialty Precast Wall Panels are ready to accept finishing materials, ready for electrical and plumbing and insulated with 8-1/2″ of insulation.
Product Strength
Specialty Precast Wall Panels are designed to be one of the strongest foundations on the market.
Structural Design * Heavily Reinforced * Watertight 5000 psi * Fiber Reinforced Concrete
-
Monolithic pour – Strength is achieved through a monolithic pour using a combination of strategically placed 1/2” and 5/8” steel reinforcement rods and 5000 psi fiber reinforced concrete. The strength of the concrete is also enhanced with a superplasticizer admixture which reduces the amount of water needed in the concrete mixture. The entire manufacturing process is poured with a uniform batch of concrete eliminating the possibility of inconsistencies associated with multiple step procedures. Depending on the height of the panel, a typical foundation panel weighs approximately 440 to 512 pounds.
-
Design – Strength is enhanced by incorporating a vertical concrete stud on the outside of each straight panel and by using two solid 45 degree panels for each outside corner. Joining two straight panels creates a 5” by 11” column of solid concrete at each joint, and an 11” by 11” concrete post is formed at each outside corner.

Installation
Installs in Most Weather Conditions 8 Cost Savings * Most Installations Take LESS than a Day
Typical installations are usually performed in less than a day, performed year round and installed in most weather conditions. Panels are typically installed on a commercial limestone base or on a traditional concrete floor.
Versatility
Ideal for Most Structures * Strength * Customized Forming Allows Precision Placement of Openings.
Specialty Precast Walls are custom designed from the customers' blueprints. Panels are manufactured in custom sizes to meet the design requirements of most structures. Specialty Precast Wall Panels are ideal for above and below ground grade structures.
Quality
Produced in a Controlled Environment * Not subject to weather * Uniform Concrete
We are enrolled in Quality Control programs through teh National Precast Concrete Association and through Underwriters Laboratories. We follow strict quality control testing and procedures and are inspected for compliance on a regular basis.
Value
Drier & More Comfortable Livivng Space * Time and Material Savings * Increased Home Value
Whether you’re building a simple foundation for a manufactured home or building an elaborate custom home, Specialty Precast Company offers a versatile product to meet most specifications.
Specialty Precast Wall Panels provide exceptional strength, excellent quality and advantages over other methods of construction. When considering the overall cost of a finished basement, Specialty Precast Wall Panels are one of the best values available to the residential market.

Ease of Finishing
Plumbing & Electrical Ready * Energy Star Approved R-15 or R-30 Insulation * Eco-Friendly
Steel Studs – 25 gauge drywall studs are incorporated into each concrete stud to accept finishing materials. Steel studs are not prone to warping and do not retain moisture like wood.
Plumbing and electric – panels provide easy access to route electrical and plumbing.
Pre-Insulated panels incorporate 8-1/2″ of Energy Star approved expanded polystyrene with an insulation value of R-30.

Insulating capacity – Each cavity between the concrete studs is capable of accepting 8 ½” of insulation. Interior space is not reduced since insulation is within the wall panel rather than having to frame the interior to insulate
Watertight Design
Watertight precast walls are achieved utilizing a crushed limestone base, a watertight concrete mix and multiple sealants between each panel.
-
Crushed limestone base – Almost all foundations are set on a crushed limestone base which eliminates hydrostatic pressure as a source of moisture commonly found in foundations with concrete footers.
-
Watertight precast walls concrete mix – the mix design exceeds the watertight concrete specifications by 25% using a 5000 psi mixture.

-
Multiple sealants – each panel is sealed using two layers of a butyl rubber material and a third seal of polyurethane.
